ICON (ICX) Blockchain has announced a partnership with ImunneFi starting October 2022

1 min read

A bug bounty program is being hosted by the ICON Foundation in partnership with ImmuneFi. The program will cover smart contracts, Goloop (the ICON main network node software), and the ICON tracker starting October 21st.

Bug bounty programs offer security researchers a chance to earn money by reporting vulnerabilities that they discover in the software. They are especially helpful for improving application security. In some cases, bug bounty programs can be combined with secure development training to address the problem of insecure coding practices in software development projects.

Software projects that are subject to more economic risks than typical are prone to bug bounties, which are essential to their long-term health. Blockchain’s premier bug bounty platform, ImmuneFi is trusted by top projects including Synthetix, Chainlink, SushiSwap, PancakeSwap, Bancor, Cream Finance, Compound, Alchemix, Nexus Mutual, and others.

ImmuneFi’s bounty program distributes rewards based on the threat’s vulnerability. ImmuneFi Bug Bounty Portal provides further details on threat levels per bounty domain.

Security is a priority for ICON

The ICON platform connects heterogeneous blockchains and their communities through delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) blockchain technology. With ImmuneFi’s Bounty Program, ICON’s core infrastructure will be bulletproofed, providing double benefits for its role as an L1 chain and a BTP keystone.

Furthermore, ICON Foundation audits ICON Bridge and goloop to protect the ecosystem in addition to the Bug Bounty Program. ICON Foundation is currently partnered with FYEO, one of the leading Web3 cyber security companies with experience auditing major ecosystems such as Solana, Algorand, NEAR, Vega, Cardano, Ethereum, and EnergyWeb. Through FYEO’s audit partner program, vulnerabilities are found before they become issues, and the company maintains availability for smart contract development teams who desire a Day 0 code analysis and testing. Through the Smart Contract Audit Fund, ICON Foundation assists these smart contract development teams.

An overview of ImmuneFi’s approach

ImmuneFi is committed to maintaining a whitehat ethic and a fair economic incentivization of technical vulnerability management. In addition to providing support for hackers to get paid when they make meaningful contributions, they assist them in getting to where they want to go. Meanwhile, they assist organizations such as ICON Foundation in the bug bashing process by verifying the legitimacy of bug submissions and by promoting partnered organizations to their large and effective community.
